Chile — dog-transmitted rabies ended (WHO)
Dog-bite rabies still kills tens of thousands of people a year worldwide. Chile has had no human case from dogs since 1972 — and the WHO just validated it as the first country in South America to eliminate dog-transmitted rabies as a public health problem.
